Luminous Voices presents their second program devoted to music of the 15th and 16th centuries.

They will be featuring selections from  Peter-Anthony Togni’s Responsio, winner of the the 2014 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award, with guest artist Jeff Reilly on bass clarinet.

Responsiois a contemporary response to Guillaume de Machaut’s Messe de Nostre Dame. Togni reflects, comments, refutes, challenges and embellishes the bare medieval voice of Machaut.

Join the Elmer Iseler Singers as they present the Canadian Premiere of Warrior Songs Friday March 6, 2015 at Walter Hall, University of Toronto.  Renown percussionist Jerry Granelli will join the Iseler’s for this five movement concerto for improvised percussion and choir. It is a 75 minute epic! The central theme running throughout the work is the idea of being a warrior for nonaggression and the simple bravery needed to look directly at one’s own mind and heart.
